Back in the 1950’s when the first Nagra hit shelves, you didn’t need anything more than a good pair of eyes to see when you were about to run out of analog tape. In those days, you could play that wonderful game of “I’m pretty sure I got enough” only to shoot your crew a grin a few minutes later when the reel ended just as the director yelled cut.

Now that most of us have moved into the digital revolution, we find ourselves using SD cards, CF cards and Hallmark Holiday cards. One of the questions that come through our office most often is: How much record time do I have with that?
