Trailer Thursday is back in full effect with the red band trailer of 21 Jump Street starring Jonah Hill and Channing Tatum. It’s La-La lands latest in turning a somewhat fantastic TV show into a feature film. Directed by Phil Lord and Chris Miller, Hill and Tatum are cops who go undercover to try and bust Dave Franco (Eric) for selling a yummy new drug. Lens’d by Barry Peterson of Zoolander fame and production audio captured by Pud Cusack, 21 Jump Street is set to hit theaters March 16, 2012.

Sorry there were not any posts yesterday – we’ve been working hard at the US Open of Surfing… (Gary Vahling is doing their live audio mix) more on that tomorrow. Few movies out there revolve around audio and audio recordings. Thankfully, Shut Up Little Man has surfaced to fill our little void.
According to the film’s site, the phenomenon began in 1987 when Eddie and Mitch (two young punks from the Mid West), moved next door to Peter Haskett (a flamboyant gay man), and Raymond Huffman (a raging homophobe). This ultimate odd-couple hated each other with raging abandon, and through the paper-thin walls their alcohol-fuelled rants terrorised Eddie and Mitch. Fearing for their lives they began to tape record evidence of the insane goings on from next door.
The trailer itself is very funny and I’m sure the rest of the film will carry a greater meaning about how information (or a basic prank) can be passed around before the age of the Internet.

After a teaser clip hit internet shelves about a month ago, the official trailer for the new Muppets movie has been officially released. Sound Mixer Steve Cantamessa with boom operators Scott La Rue and Gary Thomas worked together to help create the sound design of the The Muppets. The cast is not short of stars either; Jason Segal, Amy Adams, Mila Kunis and Neil Patrick Harris come together with Kermit and Miss Piggy for the James Bobin directed flick to hit theaters November 23rd.
